Sargood on Collaroy was established and is run by a not-for-profit organisation with support from the local community and icare. It has been purpose-built as a resort specifically for people living with spinal cord injury (SCI). The aim is to facilitate independence and skills for people living with SCI and the offering is tailored specifically for the unique needs of this group. The offering includes tailored accommodation, courses and recreation activities. Additionally, we employ staff who are skilled and experienced working and supporting people with SCI.
As a world first initiative, Sargood is truly ground breaking in its efforts to provide a place for accessible holidays and short-term accommodation and assistance for those with SCI. It is our hope that others will be inspired and motivated to pursue the establishment of similar facilities for people with other disabilities.
As a small facility designed specifically for the SCI market, we currently do not have capacity, nor are we set up to accommodate people with other disabilities.
